Introducing the meaning of SEO – Search Engine Optimization

SEO is the abbreviation of Search Engine Optimization.

SEO is a method used by webmasters to improve the internal and external aspects of a website and to reach billions of searchers. The higher ranking a website gets, the more visitors are sent to their website through search engines – Thanks to SEO.
Ranking is the search engine position of the website, when the search is made. The higher position the website has the more visitors it gets. The competition between websites is on targeted keywords and phrases.

Search engine optimizers
Webmasters, who have a great skill and understanding in both the way a website should be build, programmed and designed and how different search engines crawl the websites, is called “search engine optimizers”. In another word: Experts in how to optimize a website in a better way towards search engines’ rules, systems and bots.

Search engines
The most used search engine in the world is Google, which is the reason why most of the SEO experts mostly optimize according to Google. Most of the search engines, as Google, Yahoo, MSN, AskJeeves, AOL etc., work with the same procedure, but a website isn’t necessarily placed at the exact same ranking in two different search engines.
Search engine bots (the spiders) daily crawl websites and index the contents. A lot of facts are relevant for the bots on how to rank the websites.

SEO-crooks
A lot of rules have to be followed by search engine optimizers. Some SEO-crooks (whom indeed are experts as well), sometimes manage to “break the law”. Just like hackers manage to hack huge websites and professional servers, the SEO-crooks also find a way to cheat the search engines to reach higher rankings. Some of the results are even amazing and impossible to believe, but luckily bigger search engines are fast to find out about these crooks.
