Video Game Addiction

Psychologists accept playing too much video game as a disorder. Video game addiction means excessive usage of computer and video games. You may wonder what the limit of it is; there is no rule, law, however, playing game till your eyes get red, from dawn till to dusk, until you fall asleep means “excessive” usage.
Are you addictive to video games?
In general no one accepts that s/he is addictive to video games, computer or internet. These are all parts of our modern lives, but this does not mean they all form our whole life! Accepting is the first step to solve this addiction problem. If you spend most of the day playing games, using computer and internet, if you do not have real friends or you are losing them, if your family complains about your behaviors, after spending many hours before computer does not disturb you but you have red eyes, headache you are addictive. Game or computer addictives can tell lie to continue playing, this activity becomes such an important part of them that they can not distinguish real life and the one in the games.
Things to do for Video Game Addiction
- Accept the addiction.
- Find other hobbies.
- Try to be more social.
- Distinguish what is real, what is not.
- Limit your playing time.
- Keep in mind that there is a certain time for everything, for resting, for sleeping, for playing etc.
- If you can not solve the problem by yourself, go to the psychologist.
- Do not follow every new game.
- It is a way to have fun, and it should stay like that!
- For serious cases, there are treatment centers, do not hesitate to go there.
- If you can not prevent yourself from playing games, use computer only for job, education or reaching information, after these, shut off it.
- Invite your friends, family members to your home, be busy with them.
- Whenever you exceed your limited playing time, find a punishment for yourself and perform it.
- Be aware of that the situation may become more and more dangerous.
- Prefer outside sports rather than inside ones, this keeps you away from computer, games, internet etc.
- There is official news saying that non stop and excessive video game playing caused deaths, keep that in mind in order to realize the significance of the situation.
- Your friends or family can warn you while you are playing game, listen to their advices.
- Write and stick notes on your computer or PS remembering that you should play video games “moderately”.
- Try to figure out what you can do instead of playing game for such a long time, you will see how much time it consumes.
- Be away from screen during your essential needs, addictives even eat before screen in order not to lose time, whenever you have the chance keep yourself away from screen.
- If you notice getting away from it becoming harder and harder, watch the real serious situations, read the ideas of psychologists.
- Finally keep that in mind, you have reason, not them, do not be slave of game!
