Hong Kong is the special administrative region located in China. The official name of the region is Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. Hong Kong was depended on United States of America. However, in 1997, it became a special region depended on China Republic.
Hong Kong Island, Kowloon Peninsula and other 260 islets form Hong Kong region. The first settlement in the area dates back to Paleolithic era. It was controlled by China Empire, Britain and Japan Empire mainly. Now it is a special administrative region of China.
Hong Kong is the area of islands and islets. These are mountainous areas. There are not much plain fields. Fields are made with filling the high points. The highest point of Hong Kong is Victoria Hill. It is 551 meters high. The area is under the effect of monsoon tropical climate. While the weather is hot in summers, it is warm in winters. The economy of Hong Kong region depends on marketing, exportation, fishery, industry and tourism. It is the centre of trade and banking. Air, road and sea transportation options are available.
