Bangkok is the capital city of Thailand. It is located near Thailand gulf. The official name of the city is quite long and interesting. It is Krung Thep Mahanakhon Amon Rattanakosin Mahinthara Yuthaya Mahadilok Phop Noppharat Ratchathani Burirom Udomratchaniwet Mahasathan Amon Piman Awatan Sathit Sakkathattiya Witsanukam Prasit in Thai. It means city of angels, the great city, the eternal jewel city, the impregnable city of God Indra, the grand capital of the world endowed with nine precious gems, the happy city, abounding in an enormous Royal Palace that resembles the heavenly abode where reigns the reincarnated god, a city given by Indra and built by Vishnukam. During its long history, Bangkok has been always a world center. In 14th century, it was a trade center. Then it kept its importance in transportation and trade fields. This causes some problem especially during rainy seasons. The city is under the effect of tropical climate. The temperature is moderate all year.
