Near the Nile River, Egypt or the Arab Republic of Egypt is a North African country. With a history from Paleolithic age, it is the country of mystery. Being one of the most populous countries of Africa, people live near the Nile River, in Sahara Desert and urban areas.
Cairo is the capital city of Egypt. Transportation is based on sea. Ferry services through the Nile and railway network, airline system are parts of transportation. Egypt is not used only for passing. The Suez Canal is a centre of trade and commerce. The economy depends on the Nile, tourism, agriculture and textile. Islam and Christianity are two major religions in the country. In addition to these, there are little belief groups and people who identify themselves as atheist. Egypt is the combination of many different religious, mystic beliefs. There is tolerance for everybody. Egypt itself is one of the cradles of civilization for all world history and culture. From ancient ages, it reached to our age. Hellenism, Christianity, and Islam culture combination forms the rich and diverse culture of Egypt country. Not receiving much rainfall during the year, Egypt has a dry climate and sunny days every season. However, the Nile and mountains bring snow and rain in winter even if the fall is not big amounts. Egypt is a country which provides every wish of you, from history to nature. It is a nice place for vacation.
Activities in Egypt
Pyramids are the first thing that comes to mind about Egypt. There are many legends about how these buildings were built and who built them. Seeing these mysterious constructions is nice. However, you should find a guide who will give information about them. Otherwise, you are surprised and do not find answer to your questions.
The longest river of the world, the Nile River is a place that you should see in Egypt. It is the source of fertile lands of the country. Beside that, it is a tourism spot. Tours are held on the river, you can join them, you can have dinner on the water and along the banks of the river there are many places worth to see.
Egypt is a big country and life goes on for twenty four hours in some big cities, such as Cairo and Alexandria. In cities, there are shopping, going around, night life choices. Additionally, if you want to meet traditional people and see traditional places visiting these cities are recommended.
Sahara Desert and other big and small deserts are the beauty of nature. They are endless. Safari tours are held. If you want adventure, it is a choice. There are also accommodation opportunities in desert.
Ancient civilization effects are clear. If you are interested in history, never return without visiting excavations, churches, mosques, and libraries. Additionally, Egypt is famous for its great beaches. It means swimming, diving, camping, and fishing. Being one of the oldest tourism centers, Egypt is country of history, architecture, nature and beauty!
