There are six editions of Windows Vista. All these editions are used for different purposes. Editions are Windows Vista Starter, Home Basic, Home Premium, Business, Ultimate and Enterprise.

Windows Vista Starter edition is ideal for beginner computer users. The price of it is moderate compared with other editions. It was not released in every country. The edition was added to some low priced computers in some countries.

Home Basic edition of Windows Vista can be defined as the “basic” edition. It is for users who do not look for very detailed things. This edition does not consist of multimedia and entertainment options.

Windows Home Premium can be compared with Windows XP Home. There is every feature of Home Basic edition. In addition to this, the edition covers some other features of Vista production.

Windows Vista does not only appeal to personal usage. For business, Windows Vista Business edition is available. The security and operation of this edition makes it suitable for business usage.

As editions are developed, they share the features of other editions more. The Ultimate edition is the combination of Home and Business version. Windows Vista Enterprise is the developed form of Business edition. It is available only for Microsoft License customers, not for retail.
