INTERNET: What is Google Earth?

Google Earth is a visual program that shows the every part of the world with photographs taken from satellites. Imagine a whole map of the earth with photographs. What a technology! And think the first map of the world by Piri Reis, Google Earth looks like incredible but it is true, you can reach any point of the world with this system.
Google Earth was released by Google in 2004, and since then many developed versions of it have been released. There are three main types of Google Earth, the first one is Google Earth, it is free, the second one is Google Earth Plus which is 20$ per year, and the last one is Google Earth Pro, 400$ per year and it is generally used for commercial purposes.
The program Google Earth is multilingual, that is what makes it so popular and all over the world there are people using it. Resolution is a debatable subject, for every part, house, state building, military area and geographical place are showed with different resolution. There are also different symbols of these different places. Updating photographs is an important process; generally the latest images taken from satellite are used; however you can not always find the current situation of an area.
As the program Google Earth was developed more and more, new features are added to it and the view from it consists of more details. The photographs you see, shows even cars on a street with bird’s eye view. For instance, with Google Street View feature, you get a view with 360° panoramic street view, but this feature is not available in every country, it can be used only for USA, France and Italy.
Points Google Earth Shows
When Google Earth was first released, it was showing only the USA; but after a year, it was capable of showing nearly every city of the world. Islands, mountains, city centers, statues, streets, borders, bars, clubs, airports, railway stations, shopping centers, libraries, hospitals, pharmacies, schools, churches, mosques, synagogues, temples, sport centers, parks can be seen with Google Earth if the photographs of them are available.
Security and Google Earth
With release of such a program giving details of cities, people, groups, authoritative people criticized Google Earth. They said that the program will make easier the job of terrorist, it is against privacy and people with bad intentions can use the program for undesired reasons. Especially military areas, state buildings were found under risk; however Google is sensitive about that issue. If required application is made with logical reasons, Google Earth uses pixilation system to reduce the resolution of a special area. Anyway, there are even sites selling satellite images of cities, buildings.
Google Sky
Google Sky is a feature of Google Earth released in 2007. It shows the sky with telescope photographs. The user can go around in the space, see stars, nebulas and galaxies. In addition to this, the development of stars and galaxies can be watched with Google Sky.
