Need For Speed is a car racing video game published by EA Games. First Need For Speed game was released in 1994 for 3DO interactive multiplayer video game console. The aim was to win the games and unlock the new cars and have a chance to drive better cars. Police chase appeared for the first time in the first version of Need For Speed. Although this feature is not available in all Need For Speed Game it has been very popular. The first version was edited a few times and then a PC version was released after a short period.

How to Play Need for Speed: Undercover
There are some different game modes. Career mode is the mode which the players drive in order to win series of races and unlock cars, and also after winning the races players get the chance to modify cars in the garage. Players can change almost every part of their cars; they can get new tires, have NOS systems, paint the car or have some new body kits. With the new engine parts, the cars will be better in the races. There are different types of races such as drift, drag, circuit and sprint. The great demand for the game led to the releases of new versions of NFS.


Need For Speed II
The second game of the NFS series was released on November 6, 1997. Need For Speed II could not meet the expectations of some players. NFS II included 8 race tracks and some new cars. Players could also drive trucks and buses in the game.

Need For Speed III: Hot Pursuit
Electronic Arts did not keep the fans waiting for a long time and released NFS III: Hot Pursuit in 1998. Police pursuits made the game more attractive. The term “hot pursuit” refers to the police chase in the races.

Need For Speed Porsche Unleashed
This version of this game includes only Porsche cars and there is detailed information about Porsche cars. Producers must have worked hard for this game because almost all the detail about Porsche cars is included.  The game is also known as Need For Speed: Porsche Unleashed 2000. The game also features single player and multiplayer modes. As the players win the races they get the chance to upgrade cars and unlock the races. Pc version of the game includes 14 tracks in different cities of Europe.

Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit 2
NFS Hot Pursuit 2 was released in 2002; it was similar to NFS 3. Player could play as the police. It approaches the race from a different view than usual NFS series because it included driving seat camera view for the first time in the series.

Need For Speed: Underground
Released in 2003, NFS Underground became a sell-out game. It is almost known as NFSU. Underground refers to the illegal street races. What ever you do, the cars are not damaged.

Need For Speed: Underground 2
NFSU was released in 2004. The soundtrack featured great songs that make the races more enjoyable such as “In My Head “by the Queens of the Stone Age and “The riders on the Storm” by the Doors featuring Snoop Dogg. It included Street X mode which allows you to race a car you choose by bumping the car. Players could get extra money by playing Street X mode.

Need For Speed: Most Wanted
Most wanted was released in 2005 and was also released for Playstation 2, Xbox 360 and also PSP. Need For Speed: Carbon was released in 2006.

Need For Speed: Prostreet
Released in 2007, and is the last version of NFS series that is available now. ProStreet has a new feature called “Wildtunnel” which is available in PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game. This new feature allows players have a better car in terms of performance and look. EA games announced the release of the next game. It will be called as Undercover and will be released on November 18, 2008. One more game is also being produced and may be called as Need For Speed XIII and it might be released one year after the release of Undercover.
