Swiss International Airlines is the airline company of Switzerland. Main airports of Swiss International Airlines are Zurich International Airport, Geneva Cointrin International Airport and EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg. It is a member of Star Alliance.

It was founded in 2001. In the beginning, Swiss International Airlines was not a promising airline company. Rather than profiting, the company had debt. However, with time it showed improvement. It was taken over by Lufthansa.

Establishment of Swiss International Airlines
Swiss International Airlines was founded after Swiss Air. After Swiss Air went bankruptcy, Swiss International Airlines was founded in 2001. It is quite a new company. Some of these companies are US Airways, Lufthansa, Cirrus Airlines, El Al, Air India, Air France, Rossiya, South African Airways, TAP Portugal, Egyptair, Air One, Adria Airways, Air Canada, Blue1, LOT Polish Airlines, Darwin Airline, Scandinavian Airline System, United Airlines, Spanair, Qatar Airways, Ukraine International Airways, Edelweiss Air, PrivatAir, All Nippon Airways, Thai Airways International and some other airline companies.

Swiss International Airlines Fleet
Swiss International Airlines has 78 planes. The company ordered new ones to grow its fleet. Airbus and Avro models are used. Airbus A319-112, A320-214, A321-111, A330-223, A330-343X and A340-313X models and Avro RJ100 Jumbolino models form the fleet of Swiss International Airlines.
