Rock am Ring
One of these is Rock am Ring which is held at the first weekend of June, in Germany. Rock am Ring is one of the most recognized festivals. Line-up of the festival is announced in November. It is hard to find tickets a few weeks before the big day. In 2008’s Rock am Ring, Metallica, Rage Against the Machine, Die Toten Hosen, Nightwish, Bullet for my Valentine, Incubus, The Prodigy, Him and Simple Plan were just some of the bands that performed on the stage. Of course it is not the only festival in Europe, there are lots of others.

Download Festival
Download Festival is another alternative for music lovers. It is a three day music festival which is held annually. This year’s festival will take place on the 13th-15th of June. It looks that it will be a great show this year with Kiss, The Offspring, Him, Simple Plan, Children of Bodom, and a lot more bands on the stage. Tickets for the show have been on sale since the 8th of February. There are three stages; Main Stage, Tuborg Stage and Gibson Stage with alternative bands. Tuborg Stage will be open-air this year in order to provide more place for the fans.
 

  
Soundwave Festival
The other famous summer music festival is the Soundwave Festival, which takes place in different cities of Australia such as Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, and Perth. It was held in February and March this year with The Offspring, Incubus, City and Colour, Killswitch Engage, and Alexionfire. Soundwave provides multiple stages like the other festivals and multiple bars. Unlike the others, Soundwave offers an international food market with vegetarian options, and artist signing tents. These advantages could be a good reason to choose Soundwave Festival among the others but when we think about the line-up, Rock am Ring and Download Festival stand better.

 
Rock’n Coke
Though new, Turkey’s music festivals have been attracting attention outside the country. Rock’n Coke is the most famous of all, with its assertive line-up. 2005’ Rock’n Coke was a great show with The Cure, The Offspring, Korn, and Apocaliptica. It was held annually until this year. It will not be held in 2008 but the organizers have already promised for a stunning show for the next year.
