During a crisis taking necessary precautions, overcoming crisis with the least damage, creating chances from difficult situation are basically called crisis management. Crisis management is the main precautions that should be taken by organizations, companies etc. A crisis can affect every social, economical establishment, from schools to business in big companies, so it is an essential issue to cope with difficulties and survive. It is the studying field of public relations and management. Unexpected events, a threat, or lack of time can cause a crisis and without losing time, suitable precautions should be taken.
Working in Advance
Think it simple, if you are ill, the medicine you take is not as effective as you took beforehand, being cautious is always good. It is the same system for crisis management, of course anything can be done during and after it, however if you are ready for it in advance, you are under less risk.
A natural disaster such as flood, typhoon, and earthquake is the main reason of crisis for many establishments. They are unexpected events and they can lead you to zero. After experiencing such a disaster, it is in vain how much careful you are, you should be careful and wise before it.
Many companies have crisis plans, sometimes more than one plan. If one fails, the other one can be used. These plans should be checked and performed from time to time in order to see the function of them, positive and negative sides can also be seen with this action. Company pretends to experience a crisis, employers, boss, everyone plays their own roles, they look for solutions and they can overcome a real crisis more easily.
You can gain some benefits from a crisis management plan. First of all, you are objective about the situation and this means having time; you also have the chance to try the ways to cope with a possible crisis. If you have a plan in advance, you are mostly probably better organized and ready. Problems can be solved before they become serious. Risk taking is necessary and you can predict the results of taking risk as you have tried the plan beforehand. A good management and overcoming crisis mean having a good name, after doing all these, you are strong in the eye of other establishments, this give you an economical benefit.

Crisis management team is the one that works before, during and after a possible crisis. The goal of the team is overcoming the crisis, and getting opportunities from it. A crisis management team includes CEO, legal advisor, production expert, financial advisor, human sources expert and public relations expert.
Public Relations and Crisis Management
Public relations is quite a new field, in fact it has been existing for years, but it gained importance only recently. One of the issues public relations deal with is crisis management. In case of a crisis, announcing it to press, consumers, and employers is the duty of public relations department. Giving knowledge about current and future situation, organizing educational events about crisis, training and trying to explain the possible income and outcome of the crisis are the duties of public relations part. For managing a crisis, public relations have a key role.
