APPLE iPhone 3GApple introduced second generation iPhone 3G which is lower priced on Monday. The new model was launched by Steve Jobs who said the phone would be “more affordable”, starting at $199 (£100). It will be in stores in 22 countries on July 11 and in Czech Republic, Egypt, Greece, India, South Africa and Turkey later this year.

3G Speed:
The system, which iPhone 3G uses, is called HSDPA (High-Speed Downlink Packet Access. According to Steve Jobs, 3G iPhone has “three times faster” downloading capability compared to the original model.

As it’s known, iPhone already delivers mobile multitasking. However, 3G Speed lets you to do several applications – surfing the web, checking email, or using Maps- while you are making phone calls.  iPhone 3G gives 10 hours of talking time on 2G Networks, 5 hours of using 3G, 5-6 hours of Web browsing, up to 7 hours for video playback and up to 24 hours for audio playback. Also, if you’re in a place without a 3G network, it’s possible to connect via GSM for calls and edge for data.

Maps with GPS:
Find a location, get directions, and see traffic — all from one phone; your 3G iPhone. It determines your exact location via GPS or by land surveying your position using Wi-Fi and cellular towers. In addition, by searching through keywords such as shopping, it shows the related places like coffee, shopping centers and so on. Other applications are to view turn-by-turn directions or to monitor your place with real-time tracking.

You can switch between map view, satellite view, and a hybrid view of both ones and by tapping on the multi-touch screen you can pan or zoom around the map.

See traffic:
iPhone users can view live traffic information. Maps on iPhone indicate traffic speed along your route through green, red, and yellow highlights which are easy to read.

The APP store:
This feature will be available soon. When it’s available, you’ll find different kinds of applications from games to business, education to entertainment and so on. Some of these applications will be free and it will be possible to download and to update them wirelessly from all around the world.

Full Microsoft Exchange Support:
As an important feature in terms of being a business phone, it supports Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync, delivering push email, calendar, and contacts. Microsoft Exchange support will be integrated into the iPhone’s Mail.application. It can be configured using iPhone interfaces.
